Over the last few years we have seen more and more teens walk through our doors and we have seen the need for a tailored, specific service for teenagers. As a result, we have developed a specific service for teenagers and their families. We believe there is no other team providing the services that we do. Our families tell us that we provide results which far exceed their expectations and our expertise is sought by doctors, specialists and teachers across the globe.
We are often called by parents or grandparents who either have specific or general concerns about their teenager. It may be that you just have a gut feeling that all is not right, or you may have a more specific concern about your child. Perhaps he or she has exam anxiety, a general anxiety, challenges following family separation or trauma, struggles with eating, sleeping, depression, anger or academic performance.
Many families come to us as they feel that their child has ‘slipped through the net’. He or she may always have had struggles in the areas of social, communication or anger and these may now have gotten to a point that they are significantly hindering your child’s development. Many families come to us when they feel they have gotten to a place of no return. I want to reassure you and tell you that we have worked with hundred of teens to help them turn things around and reach their potential.
In some cases we will meet with just you first as parents to chat about what has gone on and to develop some next steps. In others we will meet with both you and your teen separately and in some cases we will meet all together. After this we will move to an intervention gathering stage and then we will move to support or intervention. What this looks like will depend entirely on the needs of your child, the needs of your family and any goals we have discussed.
